Singer 9 oil strainers have been made to the original specification. The frame is mild steel and the mesh 30 holes per inch woven brass. The spring is hand cut and shaped from 0.5 mm spring steel. Each unit is soldered with high tin content acid core flux solder and when completed submersed in engine oil. There is no need to remove the oil coating prior to fitting. Each unit comes wrapped in waxed corrosion preventative paper. Was Hardwick catalogue item 146 but now available only from the Singer Owners' Club.
